The Marker- The best Romania band 2008(exclusive Interview!!)

This band has won the GBOB Romania so they represent Romania in GBOB final at London. Each of them posses a great music talent. Their song, Yah Weh that they sang in London is so good. They came from Bucharest, Romania.It all started towards the end of 2007 when Paul Mates (lead vocals, guitar) began to dream of a band in which he could play in. Earlier, that same year, Paul, together with Andrei Prodan (backing vocals, Bass) quit the band in which they had been for 5 years.
In January 2008, Paul and Andrei put together a new band, but this time they decided on a new format and a different style. The new band was made up of 3 people with a more dynamic style and English lyrics.Check out their myspace for music streaming.

I managed to get an interview with their drummer, Octav

www.4rocker.com: are you ready for the interview?
Octav : yes

www.4rocker.com: ok, where did u get most of your inspiration
when writing the song

octav: that u have to ask paul and andrew. they are the
composers.with a friend help from scotland in my opinion , our music
come from our heart , from ourlivings,and through our music. we hope we will make a mark for tenagers

www.4rocker.com: i see..who are your major influences as
as a drummer?

octav: i like Nate Young from Anberlin
also zac from Paramore
i liked Mike Portnoy although he wasnt my style

www.4rocker.com: okeyh, like you said before the band hopes to
make a mark for teens, so currently, what social issues are you
concerned with surrounding them?

octav: i thinks its with a like we explain teens strugglers in our
song, the wars in their life, there family, and we give them hope,
that with god help, they can make better life.

www.4rocker.com: I see. Do you still play a lot of shows at your
hometown?

octav: still not so much
we had gig in ukraine

www.4rocker.com: i see, have you guys ever thought of coming
to asia?

octav: no, but we want to go wherever our music is liked and appreciated.
I love to have concerts in outerspace of romania.

www.4rocker.com: i hope you can achieve that .May i ask?
Other than band mates,do you guys hang out casually as friends

octav: yes, of course. claudiu the lead guitarist is one of my
bestfriend.

www.4rocker.com: and are there any other hobbies that you like
to do other than playing music?

octav: we use to all go snowboding in the winter

www.4rocker.com: cool. are there any local bands that also influence
your musical direction?

octav : no
