Genre: Rock and Pop
A visitor mail me and ask me to post about this band. This band is from Granada,Spain. I watch their video on Youtube and it was impressive even though i don't know the meaning of the song!!But their music is so pleasing and amusing. The arrangement of the song was good with some mixing of Spanish music culture. So, i agreed to write something about them...i found a website that commenting about this band latest album,La Leyenda del Espacio.
Here we go:
Los Planetas are a shoegazer-esque contemporary band whose latest album 'La Leyenda del Espacio' is flamenco, Jim, but not as we know it. 'The Legend of Space' is a homage to flamenco supremo Camaron de la Isla's 'La Leyenda del Tiempo', or 'The Legend of Time' (click on the link to have a listen). The album mixes flamenco structures and rhythms to create a very modern record. There are none of the acoustic guitars or hoarse yodels normally associated with flamenco, but it is indeed flamenco.
Unfortunately, singer Jota has a voice so dull it could tranquilise horses, which makes the subtle melodies even harder to appreciate. But slow burners are often the best - 'La Leyenda del Espacio' rewards repeat listens.
